This article presents evidence from literature about the prevalence of psychopathology among treated drugaddicts. The importance of these psychopathology for the prediction of therapy-outcome is indicated. The convergent validity of the Dutch version of the Diagnostic Interview Schedule is presented and discussed along with its generalisability and limitations.
