The diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children has been tested as a tool in the psychiatric assessment of mental disorders in young delinquents. The Child version (disc-c) has been positively tested as a tool in the psychiatric assessment of mental disorders in 42 young detainees, although some critical comments can be made. The parent version (disc-p) appeared to be less useful as a tool in juvenile forensic psychiatric diagnostic assessment with 15 parents of (other) young delinquents. It is now used in a shortened form.
