There still exists much scepticism about the scientific quality of sexology. Both modern medicine and psychotherapy have developed in a technical, i.e. unilateral direction.

The scattered knowledge in a fragmented world asks for an interdisciplinary science. And modern sexology is not a forgotten science, but an interdisciplinary one. The main task of sexology in the nineties is to contribute to rehumanisation of medicine and psychotherapy.
