From a human-ecological point of view the factors of the housing-environmental system ore described in a socio-psychiatric and psycho-hygienic sense. The relevant literature is discussed.
By way of the relations found in the literature, between, on the one hand way-of-life and housing-pattern, and on the other hand way-of-life and mental health, a relation is constructed between mental health and housing patterns.
Each of the factors: dwelling, resident and housing environment gets attention.
From here a model of a housing-ecological-system is designed. It is shown that one cannot invervence unilaterally in one of the factors without bringing the whole system in motion; and vice versa, that changes in the system always influence each of the factors.
