Late recurrences of neurosyfilis after intramuscular treatment with penicilline
It is extremely difficult to prove whether neurosyphilis is active or not after an initial infection. Two alcoholic patients seemed to have been treated adequately for neurosyphilis, but demented later. Treatment with ceftriaxone led to full recovery, although serological tests had not shown relapse.
