Obsessive-compulsive symptoms in schizophrenia: Indications of a distinct subtype

N.J.M. Beuk, L. de Haan

Study of literature showed that obsessive-compulsive symptoms are reported rather frequently in patients with schizophrenia. This subtype appears to have a relatively worse outcome and specific neuropsychological disturbances. Co-medication with clomipramine and ssri's may reduce obsessive-compulsive symptoms in patients with schizophrenia.
