Psychiatric examination in a situation strange to the patient
During the first contacts with a new patient, the psychiatrist may have the feeling that the story of his life, the picture of his person, the patiënt presents to him is somehow incomplete. Sometimes, especially with 'experienced' patients it turns out to be very difficult to obtain more data in the diagnostic interview. The author describes a method by which in such cases often additional information can be obtained.
